Preeclampsia is a high blood pressure disorder that occurs after 20 weeks of pregnancy and can cause a number of complications, including problems with the kidneys and other organs. In some extreme cases, preeclampsia can result in seizures, multi-organ failure, and even death. Unfortunately, current prevention of preeclampsia is not perfect, so understanding the signs and symptoms is key to help ensure the best possible outcome.
